Mount Lawley, WA, 2025
The Mount Lawley Federation
- Material
- Terracotta tile, re-bedded and re-pointed
- Scope
- Ridge capping and valley restoration
- Location
- Mount Lawley, WA
- Duration
- 6 working days
Seven gables means a lot of ridge line, and on a Federation house in a character overlay it also means the roof is not something you casually replace.
The tiles themselves were sound. The bedding mortar under the ridge capping was not, and two valleys had rusted through where leaf litter had sat against the flashing for years. We lifted and re-bedded every ridge, re-pointed with a flexible compound rated for the movement, and re-laid both valleys.
The owners kept their original roof, which was the point. Six working days, no tiles replaced that did not need replacing.
