How It Works
Our process.
- 01
Measure the catchment
Gutter and downpipe sizing follows the roof area draining into them, not whatever was there before.
- 02
Set the fall
Gutters are run to a deliberate fall toward the outlets. Flat-run gutter holds water, and held water is what rusts a gutter from the inside.
- 03
Replace and refit
New gutter, new brackets, new downpipes, with the fascia checked and repaired where the old gutter has been holding water against it.
- 04
Check the discharge
Downpipes have to go somewhere. We make sure the water leaves the building rather than soaking the footings.
FAQ
Questions, answered.
Why does my gutter overflow in heavy rain when it is not blocked?
Usually undersized downpipes, or too few of them. The gutter fills faster than the outlets can clear it. Adding an outlet often fixes what looks like a gutter problem.
Do I need gutter guard?
Under gums and paperbarks it earns its keep. On an open block it is often money better spent elsewhere. We will tell you which applies to your roof.
Can you replace gutters without replacing the roof?
Yes, and it is a common standalone job. We will only raise the roof itself if what we can see from the gutter line says you should know about it.
What about rusted fascia behind the gutter?
We check it as part of the quote. Fitting new gutter to failed fascia is a repair with a short life, so if the fascia has gone we will tell you before, not after.
